TruZone® Peak Flow Meter ("PFM")



Why Use a TruZone® Peak Flow Meter?

The TruZone® PFM is a "one size fits all" peak flow meter, meaning that one model can be used by either children or adults. The user can personalize the TruZone® PFM with the unique ColorZone® Tapes as recommended by the health care provider. These tapes help with the ongoing management of asthma.

The TruZone® PFM measures the Peak Expiratory Flow ("PEF"). PEF is the fastest speed at which air is forced from the lungs after taking a deep breath. This measurement is useful in detecting changes in the airways that could signal a worsening of symptoms or an improvement in breathing function for people with respiratory conditions such as asthma or emphysema. Use of the Daily Record as instructed and sharing this information with the health care provider at each visit is part of the overall asthma management program.
